A copy with the text really gone
Pages are rebuilt as images with your bars painted in. PDFs are reopened and checked for leftover text, comments, attachments, form fields and author details before you download.
Your documents never leave your computer.
Veil Desk opens files inside your browser tab and does all the work there. Our server has nowhere to receive a document, and the editor is set up so it can only talk to that server.
What we know about you: your Offerslide sign-in and whether you bought Veil Desk. That is all.
What we never see: your files, their names, what you covered, or what you searched for.
When you close the tab: your documents and edits are gone. Nothing is saved automatically, so export what you need first.
Search rules you want to reuse: save them as a small file on your computer and load them next time.

It does not read scans or pictures of text
Search only finds real text in a PDF. Text inside a scan or screenshot has to be covered by hand. This is not OCR.

The privacy check catches patterns, not everything
It flags emails, phone, card, account and ID numbers written as text. It does not detect names, addresses or handwriting, and can miss rotated text. You still read every page.

It is not certified redaction
It is not a legal or compliance redaction service. For court or regulated work, use the process your field requires.

Exported pages are images
Text can no longer be selected or searched. Links, forms, digital signatures and screen-reader tags are not carried over.

Files up to 40 MB and 30 pages each; up to 20 files, 60 pages and 100 MB in one batch.

Before you share.
Can the covered text be recovered from the export?
The page is rebuilt as a picture with the bars painted in, so there is no text left underneath to uncover. The original PDF's text, attachments and form fields are not copied. Still open the downloaded file and look for anything you forgot to cover.
Will the privacy check find everything?
No. It looks through the text of each page for emails, phone numbers, card numbers, IBANs, Icelandic kennitala, US Social Security and UK National Insurance numbers, web addresses and long account-style numbers, and checks the check digits where they exist. It does not recognise names, addresses or handwriting, and it cannot read scans or screenshots: pages without readable text are pointed out so you check them by eye.
Are my files uploaded?
No. They are read and edited inside your browser. Closing the tab clears them. The only thing Veil Desk asks our server is who you are, to check you have access.
Why do I need an Offerslide account?
Veil Desk is made by Offerslide, and your purchase is attached to your Offerslide account. That is how the editor knows it is yours when you come back on another computer.
I pay for Offerslide Team. Do I pay again?
No. Veil Desk is included for as long as your workspace is on the Team plan. Sign in and open the editor.
What can I do in the demo?
Everything the editor does, on a fictional sample: cover details, review pages, make copies and export. Opening your own files needs the full editor.
